Fashion Quote Of The Week.

Sketch by Valentino
"I love beautiful clothes, so when fashion became about grunge and minimalism I never followed. I think those trends were very offensive for women. I always say I am here to make women look beautiful and not like fools or crazy fashion victims".

The Oscar Fashion Breakdown

So Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie look amazing together. In my opinion, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Brad looks flawless, but when doesn't he. Angelina's dress is beautiful but I don't like it on her. I ADORE those incredible emerald earrings by Lorraine Schwartz, but mixed with that dress- not right. She always seems to look like Morticia in black but she always wears black and that seems to be her thing. Black and green = Halloween. Honestly, that's what it reminds me of...spooky. She carries herself really really well though and she's beautiful. I love everything she's wearing, but individually.

Perfection!!

Penelope Cruz looks absolutely stunning. Perfect in every way- from the dress to the hair to the jewels. Christina Ehrlick styled her and it's definitely my pick for best dressed of the evening. And she won the Oscar!!

Rachel Evan Wood Has A Swan Moment.

I love Rachel Evan Wood's Elie Saab dress. She is sort of a tough girl in real life so it's nice to see her softened up. This dress is just beautiful and glamorous and dreamy. Too posey though, she needs more practice on the red carpet. The hair is great and goes well with her dress.

Meryl Streep Gets A Pass

In my book, Meryl Streep can do no wrong. I will give her a free pass. Love her hair though.

Why Is Everybody Giving Jessica Biel A Hard Time??

I don't totally dislike this Prada dress. I think the color is beautiful, although I do prefer color on the red carpet. I think the layering is creative and old world glamorous. She looks stunning and sophisticated. HOWEVER, you can't see her shoes in this picture, but she wore the WRONG ones. Jessica wore a black clunky shoe that so didn't go with that dress. I don't get it... why would she do that???? You would expect her to wear a strappy shoe of the same color. Love her jewelry!! Simple and elegant.

Marisa Tomei is Back!!

OK, whoever styled Marisa Tomei deserves kisses and hugs. I love this pale silver Versace dress with the train and the crisscross layered fabric. Her makeup is perfect and her hair ties in well with the whole ensemble. Yay!! We love come backs!!

SOOO Pretty! Freida Pinto in John Galliano.

People are saying this dress would have looked better (or more appropriate) on Helen Mirren, which is crazy. Freida Pinto looks amazing in color and I think she chose a sophisticated dress for a purpose......to look sophisticated.

NO NO NO. JUST NO.

Why was this picked out for this young girl? This is an older looking dress by Zuhair Muhrad, on a 15 year old. Not good. I don't hate the dress, I just really really dislike it and DEFINITLY not on her. That belt is hidious and looks so odd with it. Hopefully as her years go by- she'll learn! Heidi Klum, falls face first on the runway in this geometric disaster. We love Roland Mouret, but this was something out of The Jetsons. She's also wearing too much jewelry-- way too many bracelets. SEAL needs a real tux and bow tie.

Too Old Looking

Phoebe Cates looks amazing in red, all woman with dark hair do. I'm not a fan of this dress on Phoebe Cates though, who is so pretty and wholesome in person btw. She should be in a dress that really brings out her beauty, not one that ages her by 10 years. The top part is sloppy looking and the dress as a whole doesn't show off her beautiful figure.

STAY TUNED FOR OUR OSCAR HITS AND MISSES ON THE RED CARPET. TOMORROW FEB 23 OUR OSCAR FASHION BREAKDOWN BEGINS!!

GORGEOUS!

Stunning Vinessa Shaw (Eyes Wide Shut, 310 to Yuma, Two Lovers), wears Ceylon and Susan Foster jewelry on the red carpet to various Oscar parties. If you dont know who she is yet, you will!

The Stars Love Ceylon

Ceylon's stunning and sparkly 18k gold, diamond and enamel ring is worn by Demi Moore in the film "Bobby", and is Nicole Kidman's jewelry of choice at a red carpet event. This style ring is available in black, turquoise, gray, navy, and cream (shown here), all are equally beautiful. Available at Susan Foster Jewelry-- 11695 San Vicente Blvd- Brentwood, Ca 90049-- 310-820-4244.

A Wonderful Time.

Molly Simms, wears Ceylon's 18k gold opal bangle out and about. Seeing Ceylon's decadent collection in its entirety, filled with lovely handmade pieces, brings to mind the opulence and luxury of late 1960's French Rivera. If created back then it probably would have been pictured in a Slim Aarons book---- so decadent and gorgeous! Available at: you know where..... SFJ.

Very Coooool!

Briana Erin's, very cool 18k gold and silver cuff, featured here in Cosmopolitan, brings out your inner rock star. Sexy and subtle, this cuff is such a keeper and feels great on. None of that chunky, over sized, passé, over-the-top, pseudo rocker jewelry, that was supposedly so fashionable a few years back. yuk....yikes. See Briana's beautiful, edgy and cool collection at Susan Foster- 11695 San Vicente Blvd- Brentwood-310-820-4244.

Sitting Pretty.

Anne Hathaway, looking lovely, wears Jenna Blake's 18k gold earrings and lapis lazuli ring. Available at Susan Foster Jewelry.

That's Funny, You Don't Look Buddhist.

Jada Pinkett Smith strikes a pose for Angelino Magazine wearing Ceylon's beautiful and spiritual Buddha earrings. This piece, reminiscent of the great Buddha's earlobe, depects him as the aristocratic and wealthy prince who wore earrings as a status symbol. He later found enlightenment sitting under the Bodhi Tree or Tree of Life, which leads us to another piece Ceylon created below on Amber Valetta-- The Tree of Life ring. Also pictured, Lauren Graham.

Love At First Bite

Hot on the design trail is COR, cleverly using diamonds mixed with dinosaur teeth, and ancient arrowheads circa 600BC. My favorite piece is his über cool, 18k gold and diamond trimmed Carcharodon Megalodon tooth (also known as a big ass shark) from 12 million BC, found during an excavation, and in New Jersey of all places!!! Wow, who knew Jersey had such culture? Kidding, just kidding, we kid! Jeeze...
